ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  - The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's basketball team fell to the Henderson State Reddies in a tough defensive battle 75-66, despite having three Rangers score double figures.

The first four minutes was a low scoring affair as both teams played tough on the defensive end of the floor not allowing much to go. The defense continued to be the story at the under 12 minute media timeout, unfortunately the Rangers were on the wrong end down 10-9. The Reddies continued their momentum going up 14-9 midway through the half. The Rangers found a little momentum in the form of a 5-0 run to cut the Henderson State lead to 18-14 with just under eight minutes remaining in the half. Northwestern pushed that run to 13 unanswered points to take the lead 22-18 with just under seven minutes remaining in the period of play. 

The Rangers took a six point lead into the final media timeout as they led Henderson State 26-20. The Rangers found themselves down 27-28 going into the intermission after an 8-1 run by the Reddies.

The Rangers came out of the locker room on a mission going on a 13-9 run to open the half and regain the lead 40-37. Henderson State went on a 12-7 run, to retake the lead 49-47 midway through the half in what was a back and forth affair. The Rangers battled tough, despite the Reddies jumping out to a 56-48 lead. Northwestern was able to cut the Reddie lead to just four at 61-57 with a little over 5 minutes remaining. The Rangers could not overcome the second half deficit, despite putting up a tough fight. 

Northwestern will be back in action on Saturday February 7th as they will take on Ouachita Baptist at 3 p.m.
