BETHANY, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State softball team fell to Southern Nazarene, 4-0, in the first game of the series on Friday.
The Rangers opened up the game by getting a runner in scoring position, with
Savannah Duran drawing a walk and stealing second. The game was a pitching duel for the first four innings, as the Crimson Storm plated a run in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 lead.
Southern Nazarene added two runs in the bottom in the fifth to extend their lead to 3-0, and the Rangers started to rally in the sixth with
Makanalei Lapera getting hit by a pitch and
Kaitlyn Corn drawing a walk to put a runner in scoring position. The Crimson Storm tacked on a run in the bottom of the sixth to win the game, 4-0.
The Rangers will be back in action tomorrow, as they close out the series against Southern Nazarene in a doubleheader, with the first pitch at noon.
