ENID, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball team fell to Southern Nazarene, 6-1, on Tuesday night.
Southern Nazarene opened the game with three runs in the top of the first, and added another run in the top of third to extend its lead to 4-0. The Rangers put runners in scoring position in the bottom of the inning, as
Alex Dabrowski singled to right field and stole second base while
Blake Mattern drew a walk. Dabrowski and Mattern took second and third on a double steal, but the Rangers could not bring them home.
After an hour-long rain delay in the top of the fourth, the Ranger offense came to life with a walk from
Cole Barton and a wild pitch that moved Barton to second. After a groundout moved Barton to third,
Tyler Hogan brought Barton home to get Northwestern on the board, 4-1. The Crimson Storm added two more runs in the seventh to get a 6-1 win.
Dabrowski and
Joel Lindahl led the Rangers in hits with two, while Hogan had the only RBI of the game.
The Rangers will be back in action on April 18, as they take on Ouachita Baptist in a senior day doubleheader at Myers Stadium, with the first game starting at 1 p.m.
