ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball team dropped the first game of the series against Oklahoma Baptist University.
Katy Jones started on the mound for the Rangers. Oklahoma Baptist scored the first two runs of the game after an error by Northwestern. The Rangers responded with an RBI double by Jamie Molina in the bottom of the first.
The Bison responded with three runs of their own in the following inning. After a single by Abby Baglin, Northwestern put another run on the board to cut the deficit to 6-2.
Kaitlyn Corn hit an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning; however, it wasn't enough to overcome the Bison.
Northwestern drops this game 7-4.
The Rangers are back at home to finish the series with a doubleheader tomorrow at noon.
