JOPLIN, Mo.- The Northwestern men's cross country team had a breakout race this morning as twelve runners earned a PR. The team finished in 9th out of 28 teams and were led by Riley Herndon who moved into 2nd all time in the Ranger cross country program. 

Riley Herndon finished in 25th place with a time of 25:22.79. He is now 2nd on the all time list of Ranger cross country. Andrew Scott had a strong race breaking 26 for the first time. Scott finished in 41st with a time of 25:49.55. Coy Bullard was the 3 slot for the Rangers in 74th place. Bullard finished with a time of 26:26.52. The next Ranger to cross the finish line was Matthew Manning. The freshman ran a huge PR of 27:10.93. Rounding out the top five for the team was Boyd Hamby. Hamby ran a PR of 27:56.15. Daxton Williams and Tristan Meeker were 6th and 7th with times of 28:09.59 and 28:45.85 respectively. Twelve Rangers earned a PR in this breakout performance for the team.  

The Rangers will get a break before they take to the course again. Their next race is October 3rd at the prestigious Chili Pepper XC Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas.
