PREVIOUS SCHOOL:Had a very successful juco career at Southeastern Community College where he was an All-Region X First Team outfielder in 2014, as well as an All-Region X Conference Tournament First Team selection and an NJCAA Third Team All-American. He also excelled in the classroom, being on the honor roll and dean's list both years.

HIGH SCHOOL:Was a utility player for Whiteville High School. In 2012, the All-Region First Team selection was part of a State Championship team. Long was also an All-Columbus County First Team selection three years and an All-Waccamaw Conference First Team pick for three years running. Jacob also did very well in the classroom as he was on  both the honor roll and dean's list all four years of high school as well as a member of the National Honor Society.
