Ranger Field – the home of Northwestern football – prepares for phase-two of a multi-million dollar stadium renovation project. Prior to the 2009 season, work was completed on the fieldhouse [Top right] behind the north endzone, housing home and visitor locker rooms, weight room, coaches office and meeting rooms. The next step will include a brand new, two-story story press box, equipped with suites, concession areas and retail space that will greatly enhance the fan experience. Football and soccer players will benefit from the addition of a new, artificial playing surface. In the Fall of 2013, the football weight room went through a wall-to-wall overhaul (see video) with the purchase of new state-of-the-art weights and racks.

Constructed in 1969 at a cost of $750,000, Ranger Field is located in the center of a 30-acre tract just northwest of the main campus. It features a unique bowl structure that encloses three of the four sides of the stadium and has a seating capacity of 6,000. Parking for 600 cars is provided in the area immediately adjacent to the stadium. The tiered parking spaces on the hill behind the south endzone has become a great Alva tradition, offering fans a perfect view of the action while they tailgate.
