Attended Sacred Heart High School where he was a member of a very successful baseball program. His team captured three Regional Championships along with finishing in third place overall twice in the state tournament. Jones also earned numerous individual awards including three-time First-Team All-League, two-time First-Team All-State, and one Second-Team All-State selection.
