Cade Phelps, a former Ranger standout, is being promoted to the program as Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Phelps pitched for Northwestern from 2022 to 2024, making 47 relief appearances with 97 innings pitched, 85 strikeouts, and five saves. In 2023, he was named Northwestern's March Male Athlete of the Month, and in 2024, he helped lead the Rangers to their first GAC Tournament appearances since 2021. Before his time in Alva, he played two seasons at Butler Community College (KS), where he was part of a 2021 KJCCC Regional Runner-Up team. Phelps holds a bachelor's degree in Health & Sports Science with a minor in Business and a master's degree in Adult Education Management and Sports Administration. This will be his second year on the Ranger Baseball staff as he previously served as Assistant Pitching Coach and Camp Coordinator during the 2025 season.Â
