Garrett Thompson

Garrett Thompson begins for his fifth year with the Northwestern Athletic Training Staff and is currently working with both the NWOSU volleyball and baseball programs. He returns to the staff as the Assistant Athletic Trainer after assisting the Oakland Athletics in the Dominican Summer League in the summer of 2019.

Garrett is working to complete his Master's Degree in Adult Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration at Northwestern, and hopes to work with professional or collegiate athletes in baseball in the future.

Garrett is a 2017 graduate of the University of North Dakota, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training. During his time at UND, Garrett gained experience while working with NCAA Division 1 Athletes in Football and Women’s Ice Hockey, as well as multiple other sports on UND’s campus during his clinical rotations. Garrett also completed an internship with the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida during the summer of 2016 while working alongside multiple sports programs and Athletic Trainers.

Garrett moved to Alva from his hometown of Rugby, North Dakota, and joined the Northwestern Sports Medicine team in August 2017.
