Coach Alan Hughes is in his second year coaching the offensive line for the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers. He is also the Director of Football Operations (DFO) for the Rangers since January of 2024.

Prior to being employed by the Rangers, he was the offensive line coach at West Hills Junior College in Coalinga, California. While at West Hills Coach Hughes helped the Falcons win a conference championship and received a Bowl bid. Coach Hughes had several all-conference players that went on to transfer to Division I and II colleges.

Before coaching at West Hills Junior College, Coach Hughes was in Missouri teaching and coaching high school football which included St. Joesph Central, Sherwood Cass, Ruskin, Smithville, North Kansas City and Richmond High Schools. Coach Hughes’ High School coaching career included: Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach, and Offensive Line Coach. Coach Hughes was lucky enough to win a State Championship, and appear in the semi finals while at Richmond High School. He has coached numerous All-State players that went on to compete at the college level.

Coach has been married to his wife, Diane Witulski-Hughes, for thirty-seven years she works for American Century Investment in Kansas City. The couple have two children, one daughter Bailey, 28, is married and living in New York State attending Law-school. One son Jake, 24, is a teacher and coach in the state of Nebraska.
