Coach Alex Bentrem enters his first season as the Defensive Coordinator for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers, bringing a decade of coaching experience and a relentless passion for developing student-athletes. Since joining the Ranger staff in 2022, Bentrem has served in multiple key roles, including Tight Ends Coach and Academic Coordinator, making an immediate impact on and off the field.

In 2024, Bentrem had the opportunity to work under legendary coach Jerry Glanville, gaining invaluable defensive insight and leadership perspective that will shape the future of the Ranger defense. Known for his attention to detail and ability to connect with players, Bentrem is committed to building a tough, disciplined, and unified unit.

Before arriving at Northwestern, Bentrem spent several years coaching Offensive Line at some of the most competitive programs in Southern California, including Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Torrance High School, and his alma mater, Warren High School.

With 11 years of coaching experience and now entering his fourth season with the Rangers, Bentrem continues to embrace his mission of pushing athletes to reach their highest potential while fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and pride in the Ranger program.
