Chris Sanford joins the Ranger coaching staff following a successful two year stint with NJCAA Division I power Columbia State Community College in Columbia, Tennessee.
While serving at Columbia State, Chris served as an assistant coach under long time Men's Basketball Head Coach Winston Neal. In Chris' first season on staff in 2021-2022, the Columbia State Men's Basketball program exemplified the core principles of effort, defense and team play. The result was an overall record of 25-5.
The following season Chris was the lead recruiter for multiple members of the Chargers incoming class for the 2022-2023 season. Solid recruiting, player development and dedication to excellence were key ingredients that helped Chris contribute to the Columbia State Chargers capturing the Tennessee Community college Athletic Association 2022-2023 regular season conference championship.
The Chargers finished the 2022-2023 season with an overall record of 26-5 During Coach Sanford's time at Columbia State, the Men's Basketball Program posted an overall record of 51-10 . Coach Sanford's greatest success has been helping student athletes develop on the court, in the classroom and achieve the goal of graduation.
Chris played college basketball at NAIA Bethel College. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and is pursing a Master's Degree in Adult Education. A military and law enforcement veteran, Coach Sanford brings life experience, commitment to excellence and a desire to impact young men long term as the newest member of the Ranger's Men's Basketball Coaching Staff.
