Ian Dukehart (Coach Duke) joined the Northwestern Oklahoma State University staff in January 2020 as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Coach Duke oversees the strength and conditioning of a multitude of sports. Since coming to NWOSU, the speed and power of the athletes has been a major focus of the training program.
Before arriving at Northwestern, Dukehart was a part time assistant coach at the University of Kentucky over football. During his time there, he was apart of the best season Kentucky had in 41 years. He was apart of two bowl game victories (Citrus Bowl 2019, Belk Bowl 2019). He was a vital part of training 7 draft picks along with 8 NFL free agents thru 2 years.
Before his stint at Kentucky he interned at the University of North Carolina. He worked with Baseball, Men's & Women's Soccer, Softball, T&F, Field Hockey, Rowing, Fencing, Lacrosse, Golf, Volleyball, Wrestling, and Swimming. He also had an opportunity to meet and learn from UNC Men's Basketball program. This opportunity allowed him to learn from some of the best strength coaches in the field and see what a championship culture looks like.
Before UNC, Coach Duke also had stops at Miami of Ohio, BGSU, and two high schools in Ohio. Coach Duke at these schools rose thru the ranks and earned responsibility at each school to help the athletes reach their highest potential.
Coach Duke graduated from Elida High School in 2012. After high school Dukehart played 3 years of college football at Hope College in Holland, MI. He graduated in 2016 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science.
Coach Duke earned his Masters in Coaching and Sports Performance from Western Michigan university in 2019.
Coach Duke was born in Troy, Ohio and is one of five boys. In his free time he loves to compete in anything and everything.
