Ryan Wondrasek takes the reins here at Northwestern as the sixth head coach in program history. Wondrasek was hired in the summer of 2021. He will be entering his first season with the Rangers program.
Â
He comes to the Ranger family after coaching the previous three seasons at Seward County Community College. While with the Saints, he accumulated a 32-24 record in conference play while earning Conference Co-Coach of the year in his first season with the program. He would coach five players to the All-Conference team that season. Following the 2021 season, five more players received all-conference awards.
Â
Before Wondrasek's time at Seward, he was the assistant softball coach and recruiting coordinator for NCAA Division I school, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, from 2016 through 2018. He would also oversee instruction for the catchers, along with coaching third running the offense in games. In 2018 he would help coach three players to the All-Summit League team.
Â
The four years before his time at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, he was an assistant at St. Gregory's University (OK) from 2012-2016, helping with offensive and defensive instruction. Here he would help lead the Cavaliers into the top five in batting average and the top 10 in several offensive categories, and Wondrasek helped accumulate a 172-47 record for the University, including 81-25 record in the Sooner Athletic Conference while helping his team make four trips to the NAIA playoffs.
Â
Prior to Wondrasek joining the St. Gregory's (OK) staff, he spent 2007-2012 as an assistant baseball coach on Norman North High Schools staff instructing catchers, infielders, and base running while coaching first base.
Â
Wondrasek graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2013 while finishing his Master's Degree at East Central University in 2016 in Secondary Education and Sports Administration at East Central University.
