Tamaj Gordon just completed his 2nd year at Northwestern. In 2025, Gordon was named a finalist for the USTFCCCA Indoor & Outdoor Women’s Coach of the Year. Gordon guided both teams to their highest-ever finishes at the Great American Conference Championships, coaching a conference champion in the Men’s High Jump and securing multiple runner-up and third-place finishes across jumps, sprints, and relay events. His athletes consistently earned podium finishes, resulting in over 40 GAC All-Conference honors to date.
Under his leadership, the program produced its first-ever NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor National Provisional Qualifiers, with athletes excelling across the Sprints & Jumps. Gordon also developed the school’s first NCAA Division II All-Region performer in the Women’s Triple Jump.
During the 2025 indoor season, he guided the women’s sprint and jump squads to national recognition, including a peak of #62 in the 60m dash, #61 in the 200m, #94 in the 400m, #43 in the long jump, and an impressive #4 national ranking in the triple jump. As well as the men’s long jump squad to national recognition, including a peak of #66.
During the 2025 outdoor season, he guided the women’s sprint and jump squads to national recognition, including a peak of #25 in the 100m dash, #46 in the 200m, #30 in the High Jump, #27 in the long jump, and an impressive #5 national ranking in the triple jump. As well as the men’s long jump & triple jump squad to national recognition, including a peak of #29 & #7, respectively.
