Coach Danielson is in his first year at the helm of the Ranger men's basketball team after being hired in April 2026.
Danielson has been on multiple coaching staffs at the NCAA Division II level, most recently as an assistant coach at NCAA DI the University of North Dakota during the 2025-26 season where they reached the Summit league championship for only the second time in school history.
Prior to his time at UND, he spent time as an assistant at NCAA DII Washburn University helping lead the Ichabods to a 30-4 record, a number one national ranking and the NCAA DII Championship Final Four before losing to eventual champion Nova Southeastern.
Danielson spent time at Fort Lewis College 2021-2024, where he started as the assistant coach for the men’s program before being promoted to the Associate Head Coach in 2022 becoming the only Associate Head Coach in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. During his time at Fort Lewis, he was instrumental in leading the Skyhawks to a 78-17 combined record and three RMAC championships including two trips to the NCAA tournament.
Danielson began his coaching career at NCAA Division II Missouri Western as a Graduate Assistant during the 2018-2020 and was promoted to a full-time assistant coach for the 2020-21 season. Missouri Western finished third in his final season in the MIAA, its highest finish in fifteen years.
