ALVA, Okla. - The season opener saw a hard fought battle between MIAA and GAC foes in the opening contest of the year as the RiverHawks of Northeastern State defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State by a final score score 61-43.
Individual Leaders- Kamera Bozeman had a solid first outing on the year as she would lead the Rangers in both points (14) and total rebounds (11) with a double-double..
- Ashley Pride guided the offensive effort on the evening as well as she totaled three assists and seven points in the opening match-up.

Game Changer- This game was close throughout the first three quarters as Northeastern State would only lead by a score of 41-35.
- The RiverHawks went on to outscore the black-and-red in the fourth and final quarter however by a score of 20-8 which ultimately proved to be the difference maker in this contest.
- Northeastern State outscored Northwestern in overall bench points (26-15), and saw a large margin of points scored off turnovers (19) which certainly aided in the visiting team's victory.
