DURANT, Okla. - The second and final night of the MIAA/GAC Challenge brought disappointment to the Ranger men as the final moments were once again heartbreaking, falling short in a 92-90 contest.
Individual Leaders- Laakeem Henderson had a big night on offense as he put up 27 points, while pulling down seven boards. He was deadly from the free throw line as he was 12-of-15 on the evening.
- Adrian Motley and T'aries Taylor also played very well as Motley came away with a 19-point, nine rebound night, while teammate Taylor also posted 19 points and had four rebounds.
- Overall the team was very efficient on the evening, shooting just under 58 percent and also knocking down 62.5 percent of their three pointers.
- Three Rangers played 34 minutes or more in the second game of the season as Henderson (34), Taylor (35), Motley (37) all eclipsed the 34 minute mark.
Game Changer- Northeastern State was able to pull over half of its points from the bench as the RiverHawks' bench outscored the Ranger reserves 56-15
- NSU used a 14-3 run to climb back into the game after trailing by as many as 13 in the second half. The big comeback ultimately hurt the Rangers in terms of momentum.
Up Next- Northwestern will return home next week on Thursday when the Rangers will kick off Great American Conference play as Harding comes to town on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. contest and Arkansas Tech on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip.
