The Rangers were defeated by the Tigers of East Central by a final score of 3-0 in their previous match-up. Northwestern surrendered two quick goals within the first 11 minutes of play in the first half and unfortunately were not able to get back on track to stage a comeback against ECU. The Tigers would net one more goal midway through the second half to give them the three goal advantage.
