Rangers Roll Storm for Second Straight Victory

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State was back at home this Saturday as they took on Southern Nazarene and came away with a huge 42-9 win over the Crimson Storm.

Individual Leaders
  • Reid Miller had a great afternoon as he was 25-of-37 passing for 323 yards, throwing five touchdowns to four different receivers.
  • Jacob Peyton tore it up on the ground again this afternoon, rushing for his third straight 100+ yard rushing game with 114. He also finished with one touchdown as well.
  • Dashawn Gordon was the leading receiver on the day as he caught seven passes for 85 yards and a score.
  • Arte' Miura Jr. was right behind Gordon in yards with 83, while also finishing in the endzone.
  • Once again, Riley Hess was the lead TD receiver as he connected with Miller for two on the afternoon.
  • Michael Jordan was the other receiver to wind up in the endzone with a score.
  • Maurice Wright Jr. was the lead defensive player once again as he finished with 11 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, a blocked extra point and three pass breakups.
 
Game Changer
  • Southern Nazarene opened up the scoring in the game as they knocked through a 31-yard field-goal, making it 3-0, but the Rangers had other plans for the rest of the game.
  • The next four scores belonged to the home team as Miller threw four TD's before the break.
  • Right before the end of the first half, the Crimson Storm scored a touchdown on a one-yard run, but failed on the extra point, following a blocked attempt by Wright. The score would be the last for the visitors on the afternoon.
  • Northwestern only scored twice more in the contest, but it was more than enough to secure the 33-point victory.
 
News & Notes
  • Miller broke his own single season TD record as he now has 31 on the season. He is also now just one passing TD from tying the all-time record here at Northwestern.
Up Next
Northwestern will travel to Arkansas Tech next Saturday to face-off with the Wonder Boys in Russellville, Ark. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
