ADA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State traveled south this weekend to take on cross-state rival, East Central and came away with a huge 69-60 victory, their first road win of the 2016-17 season.
Northwestern started early and kept the pedal down and assisting with that was a host of players in
Kalea King,
Ashley Pride,
Jonae Isaac and
Kori Barrios who all achieved double-digit points status on the afternoon.
King led the squad with a 14-point performance, while Barrios recorded her second double-double of the season on an 11-point, 10-rebound contest. Pride and Isaac both

kicked in 12 points of their own in the game.
Through the first two quarters of play, the Lady Rangers posted 33 points against the Lady Tigers, while never surrendering the lead throughout.
An incredible 14 treys were made during the first 20 minutes of play combined as the Black-and-Red drained six, while the hosts netted eight.
The first half leader in the points category was Barrios who buried a triple early on to get the scoring started, and finished the half with seven overall. Two other players had six apiece in
Isaac and Deja Beechum who knocked down two-triples.
Coming out of the break, East Central took their first lead of the game after three minutes in at 34-33, but Northwestern battled and regained the advantage, following a couple of King free throws.

The back-and-forth match was just beginning as there were three lead changes from then on, but ECU was only able to manage a two-point advantage when leading.
Within the last two minutes of the third period, the Lady Rangers heated up in the three-point category as four-straight trips down the court resulted in three-point makes. The final trip ended in a three-point play by King, making it 51-42 heading to the fourth.
The heavy offensive play at the conclusion of the third period led to more productivity in the final quarter of play, leading to Lady Tiger desperation.
East Central was forced to foul within the last minute in order to try and gain ground, but to no avail as the Lady Rangers were solid at the stripe down the stretch, converting their last seven to put the Lady Tigers away, 69-60.
