Lady Rangers Wrap Up Road Swing with 80-45 Loss to Arkansas Tech

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's basketball team wrapped up their first conference road trip of the season with an 80-45 loss at the hands of Arkansas Tech.

The Lady Rangers consistently attempted to keep pace with the high-octane Golden Suns offense by way of the three pointer, but could only convert on 5-of-32 attempts from long range throughout the game. Arkansas Tech out-rebounded the Lady Rangers by a final total of 53-to-37 to compliment a 46% (29-of-63) shooting percentage from the floor.

Northwestern was led on the afternoon by freshman Selena McDonald, who made four-of-six field goal attempts and both free throws to total 10 points. Point guard Jade Jones battled underneath well against a long and athletic Golden Suns squad to grab a team high seven rebounds.

Arkansas Tech jumped out to a quick 18-4 lead to start out the game and Northwestern could only work their way back to within 12 at the 3:30 mark of the second quarter before an 8-5 run to finish off the half brought the halftime deficit to 39-24 for the Lady Rangers.

The Golden Suns continued to roll and led by as many as 30 in the second half before five points from junior Jessica Tebow in the final minute of the contest brought the final score to 80-45.

Freshman Kinsey Neiderer Bailey Brown both finished with six points each while guard Jakeria Otey managed five rebounds and three assists.

The Lady Rangers will look to rebound after consecutive tough opponents on the road in the Great American Conference and will look to get back on track in non-conference play at Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 5.
