ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball finish their final game in Percefull Fieldhouse of the 2018 season with a loss to rival Southwestern Oklahoma State University 1-3, [23-25,25-22, 25-19, 18-25].
Southwestern got off to a quick start as they went up 0-5 on the Lady Rangers, yet Northwestern followed up with a run of their own, pulling within one. The first set would be back-and-forth, yet the Bulldogs would hold off the Lady Rangers and take set one 23-25.
Bulldogs took control of the lead early and kept it throughout the second set, as the black-and-red would try to make runs, but would be able to gain momentum to slow the Bulldogs down. Southwestern would go up in the match 0-2.
Northwestern would take the third set by storm, winning the third set in high fashion. Seniors Hannah Williams and Brooklynn Hesson guided the team to their first win of the match with seven and four kills respectively. Walking away with the third set 25-19.
In what would be the last set, tied at 9-9, Bulldogs got the momentum to they needed to take down the Lady Rangers, 18-25. Â
Senior Hannah Williams posted a match high with 22 kills, and Kiauna Clark would follow up with 12 kills of her own. In their final debut in Percfull Fieldhouse, Lady Rangers Tobi-Rae Barker finished with 19 digs, Cassidy Hackett would have 46 helpers and Brooklyn Hesson would finish with 10 kills.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball will play their final regular season match in Ada, Okla. Saturday, November 3, at 1 p.m. as they face the Tigers of East Central University.
