LADY RANGERS FALL TO CHAPARRALS IN THREE

Lubbock, TX. - Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball took a hard fought loss to the Chaparrals of Lubbock Christian University, 0-3 [17-25, 15-25, 23-25].

In the first set the Chaparrals held the Lady Rangers to a .077 hitting percentage that would not give them a good fighting chance to contend for a set win. After a 2-7 run by Lubbock Christian, it was tough to get within striking distance, losing 17-25.

After a back-and-forth battle early in set two, Northwestern and Lubbock were tied at 8-8 where the Chaparrals went on a 2-11 run to give them a commanding lead and run away with the second set, 15-25.

In what would be the final set of the match the Lady Rangers had a valiant last effort, coming back from a seven-point deficit and go on a 9-2 run to tie the set up at 23-23. Hannah Williams led the set with a team high 6 kills in the set, but it was not enough to give the Lady Rangers a win, losing in a close fight 23-25.

Hannah Williams led the team with nine kills as Kiauna Clark and Kaydee Honeycutt followed up with seven kills of their own.

Northwestern will continue their mini road trip and travel to Monticello, Arkansas where they will take on the University of Arkansas-Monticello Blossoms (2-17, 0-5 GAC) Saturday, September 29 at 6 p.m.
