ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist combined for just over 800 yards in the game today, with the Bison coming out on top in the offensive showdown 34-25.

Northwestern's Tanner Clarkson revived the Rangers offense coming into the game early in the fourth quarter throwing for 102 yards, while completing 6-of-8 with a touchdown. Trent Easley went 17-for-27 with 139 yards.

Once again, Jacob Peyton was the feature back for the Black-and-Red, rushing for 47 total yards on 16 carries, scoring a touchdown, cutting his yards from the career rushing record 128. Kenny Miller rushed six times for 23 total yards and Calion Baker ran in his first touchdown of the season, collecting eight yards on three attempts.

The Rangers spread out the passing game connecting to seven different receivers at least once. Kentrez Bell led the way catching five passes for 62 yards, while Gavin Garner went for 61 yards on six completions and a touchdown. Brian Gonzalez and Matthew Caputo each had their biggest game for Northwestern, due to injuries. Gonzalez caught three passes for 44 total yards, while Caputo snagged three receptions for 30 yards.

Northwestern limited Oklahoma Baptist to a three and out on their first possession, capping with Garner blocking the punt. The Rangers would take over on the OBU 12 yard line, but endured their own busted possession, gaining only four yards and missing the 25 yard field goal attempt.

The Bison took advantage of the missed opportunity, driving 80 and 83 yards on their next two possessions. The first was just six plays for a touchdown in under two minutes, while the later went 83 yards on eight plays, building an early 14-0 advantage for OBU.

Northwestern was able to cut into the OBU lead to close out the first quarter, when Conner O'Neal made a 28 yard field goal.

The Rangers came out on defense the next possession and stopped OBU on fourth and two from the NWOSU 23 yard line. The Offense would then come on the field fired up, driving three quarters of the field on a nine-play 78 yard drive for the score. Peyton would run around the edge for the score, his second rushing touchdown of the season, with O'Neal hitting the PAT to trim the Bison lead to 14-10.

Oklahoma Baptist was able to once again capitalize on back-to-back possession to make the score 28-10, late in the first half.

OBU got the ball with a minute remaining in the first half, after a Ranger turnover, but after a huge sack by Alejandro Aaron OBU was forced to settle for a field goal, which was blocked by Aharon Barnes.

The home team was able to score first in the second half, when O'Neal made his second field goal of the day, this time connecting from 23 yards out to cut the Bison lead to 28-13. The lone score in the third quarter.

Oklahoma Baptist was able to score on the first drive of the fourth, but the PAT was blocked by Qua'Shawn Gray, the Rangers third blocked kick of the game.

The next two possession from each team were cut short when both starting quarterbacks threw back-to-back interceptions, with Maurice Wright Jr. securing his second interception of the season.

Clarkson made his appearance on the second Northwestern drive of the fourth quarter, rushing for four yards on his first play. He then connected with Garner for 13 yards and then Bell for 45 yards on the next two plays. The drive was topped off when Baker ran for six and then three yards for the score, making the score 34-19.

The Black-and-Red defense came out and forced a huge three-and-out. OBU's punter then had his second blocked kick, this time by Aaron.

After a few empty possessions by each team, Northwestern's Clarkson had one more big drive in him as he connects on three passes over 10 yards to Gonzalez, Bell and then Garner for a touchdown. Making the score 34-25 with four minutes remaining.
