Northwestern is led by Lear at Central Region Championship

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's cross country team reworked the entire record book at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.

Six members of the 2019 cross country team moved into the top-10 all-time best times, led by Camille Lear, who turned in a time of 25 minutes and 20.3 seconds, which is the third best time recorded in a 6k race by NWOSU.

"The strides this program has made in a short time is impressive," stated head coach Jill Lancaster. "The commitment to the progress of the program is outstanding. We improved our average time from last season by 30 second, going from 26:05 to 25:35. Today we were led by returner Camille Lear in her first 6k to become third best all-time finisher for Northwestern."
