Northwestern Golf Announces 1st Annual Clay Shooting Tournament

ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Golf Program has announced their 1st Annual Clay Shooting Tournament will take place on August 8th at the Alva Gun Range.

With a four-man team format, the event is set to begin with registration at 10 a.m. and a short gun safety presentation followed by the first shot at 10:45 a.m. The cost of the tournament is $200 per team or $50 per person, which includes the tournament entry fee, lunch, and beverages. Teams must provide own shotgun and 100 shells per team member and are encouraged to register early.

"We hope this is a fun event for all ages to come out, get some practice, eat some food," Tim Lauderdale, Director of Golf said, "and is a great opportunity right before hunting season opens in early September."

There will also be a drawing and all teams that register before July 27th will receive one ticket per person on team for a chance to win a Benelli shotgun. Drawing tickets are $10 or six tickets for $50.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to support the men's and women's golf programs.

Registration forms are available on RideRangersRide.com by visiting the men or women's golf section on the website and clicking on the tournament link under the "More" tab.
