Northwestern trio finishes strong at OBU Invitational

SHAWNEE, Okla. – After over a year off, the Northwestern Oklahoma State University women's cross country team returned to action at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center.
 
"Our women's cross country team competed hard," Assistant Coach Craig Binkley said. "We are thankful that we got the opportunity to compete during this challenging time. We need to learn from today and get ready for our next meet."
 
Great American Conference foe and host Oklahoma Baptist secured the team victory with four top-five finishers. Freshman Emily Smith was the top finisher for the Lady Rangers, with a 13:27.28.

Melissa Perez was the next to finish for the Red-and-Black, ending with a time of 16:14.40, and Mallory Paruszewski wrapped up the finishers for NWOSU crossing at the 16:54.64 mark.

The Rangers will return to action next at the GAC Preview, on Friday, Jan. 29, hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla.
