ARKADELPHIA, ARK- Northwestern Oklahoma State Volleyball returned to action Saturday for their second day of a back-to-back in Arkadelphia after defeating Henderson State Friday. The Tigers used a strong opening set of 25-13 to lead to a match 3-0 win.

Kaydee Honeycutt led the Rangers and Addison Wimmer with seven kills each in the afternoon. Abigail Burns led the team in assists with 14, followed by Abby Davis with 13 on the afternoon. Maggie Peterson led the Rangers in digs with 10, followed by Tarra Parks with eight. Carmen Jones had five blocks, followed by Ravyn Burns with four.

Set 1:
Ouachita Baptist came out strong to open the match, scoring the first six points of the game, including three straight service aces by Church's serves, forcing a Northwestern timeout. Out of the timeout, the Rangers would get their first point on a kill from Honeycutt, but the Tigers would answer back, taking an 8-2 lead in the match. The Tigers would follow this back with a 3-0 run continuing to extend their lead this time at 11-3 when Honeycutt would end the run again. Northwestern would go on a 3-0 run trying to make a comeback cutting the deficit to 15-8, but Ouachita would push their lead to double digits with a 20-9 lead. The home team would close the set one out with a 25-13 victory taking a 1-0 lead over the Rangers in the match.

Set 2:
Northwestern is looking to answer back trading points early on with three ties in the opening six points before the Rangers would go on a 3-0 run to take a 5-3 advantage over the Tigers early in the set. Ouachita would tie the score back at 5-5 before eventually take a 6-5 lead on back-to-back kills. The second set would be locked at 8-8 following a Courtney Russell kill. The home team would take an 11-9 lead and not let go the rest of the second set, keeping the Rangers away. Ouachita would open a 20-16 lead in the set before Northwestern made their push for a comeback cutting the deficit to one on serves by Parks, leading to kills by Jones and Honeycutt as the Rangers trailed 20-19. The Tigers, however, would close the set on a 5-1 run to take the second set 25-20 and a matching lead of 2-0 over the Rangers.

Set 3:
The third and final set was the closest of the three. Northwestern jumped out early, taking the first two points of the set, looking to extend the match on kills from Ravyn Burns and Honeycutt. The Tigers would rattle home three straight points, though, to take their first lead of the set. The set would be locked at five following a kill from Russell. Northwestern would open a four-point lead at 10-6 following a 5-1 run on two service aces from Jones, followed by two kills by Wimmer. With the Rangers in front 11-6, the Tigers would respond with a 5-0 run to even the score at 11-11. The team would continue to battle and trade leads with four lead changes in the next eight points before Northwestern took a 20-17 lead following a kill by Burns. Tigers responded with a 3-0 run to tie the set at 20-20. The teams would stay even until 23-23 following a Tiger attack error before the home team closed the match out on a 2-0 run to win set three 25-23 and the match 3-0 over the Rangers.

The Red-and-Black will return home for three straight home games starting with Arkansas Tech on Friday the 15th with a 6PM start time , followed by Harding on the 16th at 1PM.
