DURANT, Okla.- Northwestern traveled to the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Oklahoma, for a Tuesday night conference match. Kelsey Ripperger and Abby Davis led the team with 24 assists, followed by Tarra Parks with four. Parks led with 24 digs, followed by Wimmer with 19 and Honeycutt with 11, giving Wimmer and Honeycutt double-doubles on the night.

SET 1:

The Savage Storm jumped out fast with the first two kills of the match to take a 2-0 lead over the Rangers before a Honeycutt kill put the Rangers on the board before evening the score at 2-2. Southeastern followed that by going on a 5-1 run to open a 7-3 lead over the Rangers early in set one. Honeycutt would help lead the Rangers on a 3-0 run with a kill before serving the following two points to bring the Rangers back within one. The two teams would trade points for the next six as a kill from Wimmer kept the deficit at one in favor of the Storm at 10-9. Southeastern would push their lead back to three at 13-10 over the Rangers. Southeastern would open their largest lead at 21-13 over the Rangers following a 5-1 run. Northwestern would respond with a 3-0 run to bring the deficit back to five points. Southeastern would react, though, by trading points to maintain their five-point lead to win the opening set 25-20 over the Rangers.

SET 2:

The second set was a battle between the two teams as Southeastern jumped on the board first, but the Rangers answered fast. The set was tied a 2-2 before the Rangers went on a 5-0 run to go up 7-2 forcing a Storm timeout. Southeastern, out of the timeout, would respond with a 5-1 to cut the Ranger lead to one at 8-7. Southeastern would tie the score at 9-9 and later go on a 6-0 run to jump out to a 15-11 lead over the Rangers. Northwestern would get even the score at 15-15, followed by a 4-0 run from a service ace from Wimmer and a kill from Honeycutt to tie the set at 15. The teams would continue to trade points as the set would later be tied at 20. From the 20-20 mark, the set would be tied nine other times all the way to 29-29 before Southeastern would close it out with two straight points to win the second set 31-29 on back-to-back kills. Northwestern would get three consecutive kills from Wimmer late in the second set to help keep the set alive before Southeastern was able to close out the set for a 2-0 match lead.

SET 3:

Northwestern would hold the three-point lead at 10-7 before the Savage Storm would later tie the set at 10-10. The set was locked at 15-15 when the Rangers tried to take the set, going on a 4-0 run, opening a 19-15 lead, forcing a Savage Storm time out. This was led by two more Wimmer kills, pushing the lead to 20-15. The Savage Storm would use a 5-0 run to climb back within one at 21-20 before a Wimmer kill would end the Storm run. Northwestern would go back up 23-20 with two straight Wimmer kills, forcing a second Storm timeout. Out of the home team's timeout, the Savage Storm answered back with two consecutive points bringing the score to 23-22 forcing the Rangers to use a timeout. Northwestern would win out of the timeout with two of the three points as Honeycutt closed the set out with a kill 25-23, forcing a fourth set.

SET 4:

Southeastern tried to take an early advantage opening a 4-1 early lead, but Northwestern had the answer to tie the set at 4-4. Just as the whole match was so far, the teams would continue to trade points and be locked in at 6-6 for the third tie of the set in the early going. There would be three more ties to the degree of a 9-9 tie before Northwestern tried to make their charge in the set with five straight points to open a 14-9 started by a Jones kill before back-to-back service aces from Parks. Southeastern would come back to tie the match at 16-16. The teams would continue to trade points up until a 20-20. A kill from Wimmer started the next Rangers run, pushing their lead to 24-21. A kill from Honeycutt would close out the set four victory, forcing a fifth set after a 26-24 set win forcing a 2-2 match.

SET 5:
