Lady Rangers Drop Conference Road Game Saturday Afternoon

Ada, Okla- Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers traveled to Ada for the first road conference game of the season. East Central took advantage of a fast start to the second quarter as the Tigers went on to win 82-59 Saturday afternoon.

Bailey Brown led the Rangers' offense with 13 points and seven rebounds.With her 13 points Brown reached the 1,500 point mark in her Northwestern career.  Andi Pierce finished the game with nine points and Josena Frame with eight. Brown led the way in rebounds, followed by Pierce with four. J. Frame led the team with three assists in the game. 

The two teams opened the game slow on offense as the first points were not scored until two minutes into the game as a Kinsey Neiderer three-pointer would open the scoring giving the Rangers the first lead of the game. The teams were locked in at 6-6 halfway through the opening quarter into the media timeout. Out of the timeout, the Tigers scored five quick points to take an 11-6 lead over the Rangers as the home team tried to gain some control in the game. Andi Pierce would end the Tiger run with a jump shot. The Tigers would follow with another 6-0 run to take a nine-point lead late in the opening quarter. East Central held a 22-16 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

East Central would open the second quarter with a 7-0 run to open their first double-digit lead of the game, at 29-16. Carly Craig would hit a three for 3 of her 7 points in the half to end the run, but the Tigers answered right back with a three of their own to hold the 13 point lead. Northwestern would get as close as eight points in the half, but the Tigers would storm back on an 8-2 run to open a 43-28 halftime lead over the Rangers. 

Brown would open the scoring in the second half with a layup, but East Central responded with a 10-0 run following the layup over the two-minute span to take a 58-32 lead over the Rangers about halfway through the third quarter. A Neiderer three-pointer pushed the deficit to nineteen at the end of the third quarter as the Rangers trailed 66-47 going into the final quarter. 

East Central would open the fourth-quarter scoring with a basket to push their lead back to over 20. The Tigers would follow that with a 13-4 run to extend their largest lead of the game at 28 with a 79-51 lead halfway through the fourth quarter. Northwestern would close the game on an 8-3 run led by Lizzie Shepherd and J. Frame with three points each. Tigers would win 82-59 over the Rangers. 

Northwestern will be back in action Saturday, December 11th, in Bethany, Oklahoma, as the Rangers take on Southern Nazarene for a road conference game.
