Northwestern Falls in Series Finale to Southeastern

DURANT, Okla. – Northwestern dropped the series finale to Southeastern on Saturday, falling 10-1 in five innings in Durant, Okla.
 
The loss moves the Rangers to 7-10 overall and 2-9 in the Great American Conference.
 
Northwestern would have three hits in the game, one each by Hannah Howell, Kalie Johnson and Lindsey McElroy.
 
Howell connected on a solo homerun in the first to account for the RBI.
 
Alexia Taylor got the start and tossed 2.0 innings in the loss, allowing three runs on three hits with a strikeout.
 
Howell would come into pitch 2.0 innings in relief, allowing four runs, three earned on five hits and striking out two.
 
Victoria Vasquez came in to throw the final 0.2 innings, surrendering three runs on three hits.
 
Howell put the Red-and-Black on the board with a homerun in the top of the first inning, taking a 1-0 lead.
 
SOSU would answer with three runs in the second and a pair of runs in the third, fourth and three runs in the fifth to take the game 10-1.
 
Northwestern will return to action when they travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., to take on Henderson State on Friday, March 19, at 5 pm.
