Northwestern will host the 7th Annual Fall Ranger Invitational where both men's and women's programs will compete at Meadowlake Golf Course Monday and Tuesday.
Northwestern and Meadowlake have hosted this tournament in the fall the last six out of seven years.
"We're excited to continue our relationship with Meadowlake," said Northwestern associate director of athletics, Tim Lauderdale. "Meadowlake and its staff do a fantastic job each and every year which keeps us coming back."
There will be 18 teams competing in this year's tournament from 11 different schools in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Teams will be represented from several different athletic conferences and associations in the region.
Both the men's and the women's tournaments will go on simultaneously at Meadowlake with the men teeing off from No. 1 and the women off of No. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. both days. The last tee time for the men is 11:24 a.m. and the women's is 10:21 a.m.
Competing on the men's side will be the Rangers from Northwestern and Southeastern Oklahoma State University representing the Great American Conference (GAC) and NCAA Division II. Other schools competing on the men's side are Kansas City Kansas Community College, Barton County Community College, Garden City Community College, Fort Scott Community College, Coffeyville Community College, and Hesston College representing the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) and the NJCAA and representing the NAIA are Oklahoma Panhandle State University form the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) and Southwestern College from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
Competing on the women's side will be the Lady Rangers from Northwestern competing out of the GAC and NCAA followed by Barton County Community College, Garden City Community College, Fort Scott Community College, and Coffeyville Community College from the KJCCC and NJCAA and finally from the NAIA are Oklahoma Panhandle State University from the SAC, Southwestern College and Missouri Valley College from the KCAC.
"Every year this tournament continues to grow and it wouldn't be possible without the help from our boosters, local business owners in Alva and Enid, and of course Michael League and David Rogers at Meadowlake," Lauderdale said. "The support for Ranger Golf and the sport are phenomenal."
This will be the final tournament for the Northwestern women who look to complete their fall season that consisted of four tournaments across Oklahoma and Missouri. The Northwestern men will close out their fourth and final tournament next week on October 24-25 in Tulsa, Okla.
