Rangers Conclude OBU Invite with Fourth Place Finish

SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State return to action Saturday afternoon in the OBU invite with a fourth place finish in the Women's 5k run. The Rangers had six runners place in the top 30 of the meet.

"The team is figuring it out and are going to make huge leaps when it comes conference time. We need our fourth through seventh runners to work together and move up" stated coach Sterlin Broomfield.

The Rangers were led by Kate Foster placing 17th overall in the meet running a time of 21:29.68 with an average of 4:17 .93 in the meet. Liberty Goodnow finished right behind Foster placing 18th in the meet with a time of 21:34.78 with an average time of 4.18.95 for the Rangers.

"Our team competed hard today and I am delighted with the efforts but more importantly the information we gained from racing on the Great American Conference Championship course. This is a huge benefit in our preparations for the Championship meet" stead head coach Jill Lancaster.

The third Northwestern runner to finish was Emily Smith with a time of 22:35.01 running with an average time of 4:31.00 and 25th overall in the meet. Leiyah Light finished 26th in the meet right behind Smith with a time of 23:09.99.Cameryn Boykin placed 30th for the Rangers as the sixth runner for Northwestern with a time of 23:40.45 an average of 4:44.09.

Addie Hoeme placed 35th for the meet as the seventh Ranger to cross the line at 25:00.59 an average at 5:00.11. Jaeden Coon, Jerika Coon, and Mallory Paruszewski were three of the next four runners in the meet as Jaeden Coon ran a 25:31.15 placing 36th followed by Jerika at 37th with a 25:38.99, and Paruszewski at 39th with a time of 26:34.18.

The final results included Oklahoma Christian taking first place, followed by Oklahoma Baptist, Southwestern Oklahoma, Northwestern and Redlands Community College.

Northwestern will be back in action on November 5th for the Great American Conference meet hosted at Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
