Box Score Alva, Oklahoma - The Rangers celebrated their seven seniors Carlie Massingale, Kaitlyn Morphy, Giselle Holguin, Abby Nunez, Kailani Kealoha, and Avery Platt Satruday before the match. Every senior started the match against East Central University.
The defensive battle kept pace throughout the game as the Rangers forced their third straight shutout for the first time since 2004 and first time in the Division II era.The Rangers and Tigers remained scoreless throughout the ninety minutes to finish in a 0-0 draw for the second consecutive game.
Northwestern moves to 6-4-4 on the season with a 3-2-3 conference record for 12 points on the season as East Central is now 2-5-2 in conference and 2-9-4 on the season with eight points.
In the first half, the Rangers only had two shots on goal, and the East Central Tigers had five shots on goal. Each team had eight shots in general during the half. The Rangers and Tigers were playing evenly back and forth in possession.
Maggie Koster was the starting goalkeeper for the Rangers stopping all eight shots she was faced with helping the Rangers to the teams third straight shutout and her second consecutive shutout after shutting out Oklahoma Baptist last week.
In the second half, the Rangers managed to get more opportunities on the Tigers but were still unable to score with a total of twenty shots and five shots on goal to finish the match after out shooting the Tigers in teh second half. The Tigers finished the match with twelve shots in total with eight on goal.
