Ranger Soccer Strikes Late in 2nd Half to Earn Draw

Searcy, Arkansas - The Rangers traveled to Arkansas to play Harding University Thursday for the opening of a two game road trip. The Rangers had an impressive comeback against the Bisons. The match ended with a 2-2 tie, the Rangers with fourteen shots and the Bisons with six. This moves the Rangers to 6-4-5 and the Bisons to 2-9-4. 

The Rangers remained scoreless in the first half when the Bisons scored their first goal of the match with eleven seconds left of the half. This caused the Rangers to go into half time down 1-0 to the Bisons. When comparing the number of shots each team had, the Rangers and Bisons were tied with five shots in the first half. This caused the Rangers to come out fighting even harder in the second half. 

The Rangers and Bisons fought hard the entire second half as the Bisons were trying to maintain their lead and the Rangers were trying to get on the scoreboard. With nine minutes left in the half the Bison scored their second, and final, goal of the night putting up another point over the Rangers to lead 2-0.

Just two minutes later, the Ranger offense struck as Abby Nunez scored the Rangers first goal of the night with a shot in the upper corner. As the time was coming down to the final seconds, the Ranger offense perseveres and with nineteen seconds left in the match, as Isabella Mcmillan dribbled down the sideline to send in a driven ball on a pass for Gisselle Holguin to send into the back of the net for the Rangers to finish with a 2-2 tie with the Bisons. 

This is the Rangers second tie against Harding this season completing the season series 0-0-2

Next up, the Rangers move to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to match up against Ouachita Baptist University.
