Box Score Bethany, Oklahoma - The Rangers traveled to Bethany to face Southern Nazarene University for their last regular season conference game of the season. The Rangers were able to beat the Crimson Storm 2-0 to break their tie streak with two late second half goals. This made the Rangers finish 7-4-7 in the regular season and the Storm finish conference with 5-11-2.
Rachel Brown had five saves in the win for her fourth shutout of the season. Northwestern now has three consecutive shutouts and the eighth on the season overall.
The Rangers and Storm went into halftime scoreless. In the first half, the Rangers had ten shots while the Storm had half the number of opportunities, finishing the half with just five shots. This did not stop the Rangers from coming out strong in the second half.
The Rangers were able to score their first goal of the match when Lily Anderson took a corner kick and Callie Haneborg put it in the back of the net with eighteen minutes left in the match. This gave the Rangers momentum as Gisselle Holguin took a shot on goal that reflected off of the Storm keeper which allowed Holguin to follow up to send into the net, giving the Rangers their second and final goal of the night with just ten minutes left in the game. The Rangers defeated the Storm 2-0 to conclude the regular season.
Next up, the Rangers travel to Weatherford, Oklahoma on Thursday November 3rd to face Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the first round of the GAC Championship.
