Arkadelphia, Ark. - The Rangers pick up their seventh consecutive win against The Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University with a final score of 75-69. Northwestern used a 10-0 run midway through the first half to take a 20-12 lead over the Tigers. Northwestern would never trail in the win.

This victory improved Northwestern's conference record to 11-5 and overall record to 16-6. The Tigers drop to a 5-17 overall record and 3-13 conference ranking.Â

Malik Parsons led the team in scoring with 21 points. Anthony Jones added 18 points. Jones and Larry White tied for rebounds with 6 each. Bubba Furlong led the team with 5 blocks as White would add three steals.

1st Half - The Rangers of Northwestern started out strong with a jumper by Larry White to start the scoring in this game. The Tigers of Ouachita Baptist responded with a layup. Anthony Jones fired off a three pointer and contributed another layup, pushing The Rangers into an early lead at 7-2.. The Tigers would fight back scoring a jumper and two free throws. This mini run would leave The Tigers trailing by one 7-6 going into the first media timeout.Â

Out of the timeout Brian Free would contribute a free throw for Northwestern. A responding layup from The Tigers would tie the game 8-8. Bubba Furlong sank two free throws to put The Rangers back in the lead. Teammate Malik Parsons would extend the lead with a three pointer. Ouachita would respond with a layup.
Despite this effort The Rangers continued to lead 13-10 going into the second commercial timeout.Â
Parsons would further Northwestern's lead out of the timeout with four free throws. The Tigers responded with a hook shot. Off the bench, Ravel Moody fired off a three pointer for The Rangers. Northwestern's 10-0 run pushed the lead to 20-12. Ouachita fought back, scoring a three pointer and a layup. Jones responded with a layup and a free throw to keep The Rangers ahead. Parsons contributed a layup. The Tigers fired off a three pointer bringing the score to 25-22 before the final media timeout.Â

Out of the timeout Parsons continued to extend the Northwestern lead. The Rangers knocked down two made free throws. White would feed off his teammates' energy and contribute a dunk off a Ranger steal. The Tigers would quickly respond with a three pointer. Furlong sank a three pointer to end the half. Parsons led the team in points with 12. White led in rebounds with 4 followed closely by Jones with 3. Furlong contributed 3 blocks this half.Â

2nd Half - The Rangers were first to score out of halftime with a layup by Parsons. The Tigers quickly responded with a couple of free throws and a jumper. White contributed two free throws for Northwestern. Furlong added an additional layup extending The Ranger lead to 39-33. Neither team scored for two minutes as the teams settled into a defensive battle. Jones contributed a free throw after the first media timeout ending the scoring drought for the Rangers.

A steal by Moody out of the timeout led to a dunk by Parsons on the fast break. The Tigers responded by making a free throw and a jumper. Parsons picked up a steal and contributed another dunk for The Rangers, allowing them to settle into a comfortable 11 point lead, 47-36. Free fired off a three pointer to further Northwestern's lead going into the second media timeout. Â

After the commercial break, Parsons contributed two free throws to build on The Ranger run. Ouachita responded with a made jumper. Off the bench, Chance Love contributed a layup seconds into coming in the game. Jones extended Northwestern's lead to 15 with a three pointer making the score 57-42. The Tigers responded with two free throws and a three pointer. Off the bench, Jalen Smith contributed two free throws for Northwestern. A late 8-0 run by The Tigers allowed them to close the gap and trail 63-58. Jones ended their run with a layup leading into the final media timeout of the game.Â

Out of the timeout, The Tigers scored two free throws. The Rangers quickly responded with two free throws from Free. Ouachita fired off a three pointer making it a four point game at 67-63. The four points would be the closest the Tigers could get. Parsons furthered Northwestern's lead by sinking a three pointer with two minutes remaining. A layup by Jones contributed to sealing the victory. The Rangers would seal the deal at the foul line holding off a late comeback attempt by the Tigers for a 75-69 victory over Ouachita. Â

The Rangers look to get their eighth consecutive win against the Reddies Saturday at 3:00 PM. The last game of the Arkansas road trip for Northwestern will take place at Henderson State University.Â
