Rangers Hit the Road for Three Game Series at Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State Baseball hits the road for a three game series against Henderson State. The series will begin Friday afternoon with first pitch scheduled at 4:00 PM before a Saturday afternoon doubleheader starting at Noon and 3:00 PM. 

The Rangers (10-12 overall and 6-6 GAC) enter Friday looking to snap a eight game road losing streak and pick up their first road win. Northwestern is 1-4 in their last five games this season. 

Northwestern's pitching staff has been led in part to Edwin Colon having made the most appearances with ten on the season for the Rangers throwing 13.1 innings picking up three wins and two saves on the season. Emilio Lovato has made the most starts with six striking out 39 through 33 innings of work. THe Ranger starter has thrown three quality starts in those six starts. Dylan Collins leads the team in wins with a 3-0 record through 21 innings thrown. 

The Rangers offense is led in batting average by Yugo Hamakawa hitting .380 on the season with an on base percentage of .511 both being team highs. He is one of five hitters above the .300 mark as Hayden Priest (.375), Brayden Koenig (.360), Blake Hoffman (.352), Brandon Holdren (.346). Blake Hoffman leads the team in home runs with six on the season along with a team high 26 RBIs. Hayden Priest and Shaughn Kelly each have five home runs on the season for a team total of 34 in 22 games played. As a team the Rangers are hitting .296 on the season 

Scouting the Reddies:

Henderson State (17-4, 9-3 GAC) enters play Friday  ranked number 11 in the polls. The Reddies enter the series losing two straight games after dropping the final game of the series to Harding before losing to Mississippi College. They have won three of four conference series to date this season. The Reddies will carry a 12-2 home record into play. 

The Reddies offense is led by Cade Tucker hitting .400 on the season and an on base percentage of .488% both team highs in the season. David Vilches leads the team with nine home runs to date along with 24 RBIs this season, Grayson Stevens and Kaden Argenbright sit second with 21 RBIs each. They have four hitters over the .300 mark on the season.

Henderson State's pitching staff is led by Spencer Taack tied for a team high six starts on the season through 35 innings pitched. He has struck out 34 hitters in those 35 innings of work. He has a 2.78ERA followed by the other two Reddie starters with a 2.84 and a 4.19 ERA as they combine for an 11-0 record. Out of the bullpen Andrew Howard has the team's best ERA with a 1.59 ERA in eight appearances thrown in. Brayden Beebe leads the team though with two saves this season. 

History:

The two teams have met 24 times so far in the series' history dating back to 2013. Henderson State leads the series 18-6. Northwestern won the series in Alva last season winning two games to three over the Reddies but are 2-3 in the last five against the club.
