GOODWELL, OKLAHOMA - The Rangers will travel to Goodwell Tuesday afternoon for a midweek game against Oklahoma Panhandle State to close out the two program season series against each one another. Northwestern took the first meeting between the two teams 13-10 in Alva earlier this season.
The Rangers (13-15 overall, and 9-9 GAC) enter play Tuesday on a two game win streak after winning the series over Ouachita Baptist this past weekend. Northwestern is 3-2 in their last five games and will look to pick up their second straight road victory. Rangers are 1-10 on the road this season overall.
Yugo Hamakawa leads the Rangers with a .394 batting average and a 1.137 OPS after having nine hits in his last four games on the season. He is one of six players hitting over .300 on the season as Brandon Holdren hitting .376, followed by Blake Hoffman .333, Hayden Priest .325, Brayden Koenig .323 and Shaughn Kelly with a .316 average. Overall as a team the Rangers are hitting .295 through 28 games this season. Hoffman leads the team with eight home runs on the season with Priest and Kelly with six each. The team has a total of 43 home runs on the season. Hoffman also leads the Rangers with 32-RBIs on the season with Hamakawa second at 28. Hamakawa leads the team with a .509 OBP this season.
The pitching staff has been led by Edwin Colon out of the bullpen with a 5-0 record in 12 appearances including two saves in 19 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts on the year. Emilio Lovato and Ethan Swanson are the top of the team in innings pitched with 40 and 34 respectively this season with 43 and 40 strikeouts both team highs.
Scouting the Aggies:
The Aggies (10-20 overall 2-7) enter play on a four game losing streak after dropping three straight to Southwestern Assemblies of God, and enter 1-4 in their last five games. Overall the Aggies are 4-3 at home winning their last two games.
Oklahoma Panhandle State is led by Ethan Hunt with a .444 average with nine home runs and 43 RBIs on the season as one of six players hitting over .300 for the Aggies. Jonathan Applebury is hitting .337 with seven home runs on the season with 28 RBIs on the year. Luis Dermas is hitting .356 with an OBP of .512 on the year. As a team the Aggies come in with a team .303 average and 24 home runs on the year.
The pitching staff is led by Austin Jacobs with 43 innings pitched on the season with two complete games and 27 strikeouts. Jacobs has a team high four wins on the year followed by Colton Anderson with three on the season. They have three different players with one save each on the year each having eight total appearances.

Northwestern will look to continue their success on Tuesday in the series meetings as the Rangers have won five straight in the series. Overall the Rangers lead the series 18-3 and took the first meeting between the two teams 13-10 this year earlier in March.
