ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball will close out their non-conference portion of the schedule Tuesday afternoon with the final home game of the 2022 season against Rogers State. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Glass Family Field at Myers Stadium.
The Rangers (20-26 overall, and 13-17 GAC) enter Tuesday coming off a series win over Arkansas Tech two games to three. Rangers are 3-2 in their last five home games and 15-10 overall on the season.Â
The Rangers offense has been led by Yugo Hamakawa in batting average with a .380 average and a 1.073 OPS. HIs OBP is sitting at .472 this season. He is one of seven players above .300. Rogers State (23-22 overall and 15-15 MIAA) entered play on Tuesday coming off a series win over Washburn two games to three. The Hillcats enter play on a two game road win streak and an 8-9 overall record on the road this season.Â
The offense as a team is hitting .287 with 24 home runs and 273 RBIs. This is led by five players hitting over .300 including the leader in Jesse Holguin at .359, followed by Skyler Nelson, Joel Escalante, Marco Barrera, Gavin Mestas. Holguin and Nelson are tied for the team lead in home runs with six as Holguin leads the team with 54-RBIs this season.Â
On the mound the Hillctas are led by Brent Dickey with a 3-1 record and team low 4.18 ERA in 16 appearances this season. Jordan Ewig leads the team with six wins in 10 starts with a 4.54 ERA. and three complete games. Sanchez leads the team with six saves in 30 innings of work.Â
