Women's Golf Concludes Newman Spring Invitational

NEWTON, Kan. – The Northwestern women's golf team finished up the Newman Spring Invitational on Tuesday at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club completing a two-day invitational which began on Monday.

The Rangers recorded a 17th place finish on the 5,993-yard par 72 course. Northwestern posted a 674-team score after two rounds in two days.
Madison Masch led Northwestern after she carded an 84 in her first round and improved the final round after turning in a score of 80. Masch finished the tournament with a 164 and recorded one birdie.

Mackena Tennyson carded a two-round score of 169. Tennyson finished shooting 86-83 and earned two birdies. 

Angela Egger came in next for the Rangers posting a two-round score of 82-91 - 173. 

Rounding out the scoring for the Rangers was Samantha Friday and Alexis Webb finishing two rounds total of 173. Friday carded an 85-88 in the two rounds. Webb posted a two-round score of 82-91 while recording one birdie. 

 Rogers State University won the tournament after turning in a two round team total of 302-302 – 604. 

 Great American Conference opponent Gracen Blount of Henderson State led individually, scoring after shooting 73-70 – 143 to finish one under par. 

 UP NEXT: The Rangers will compete in the Great American Conference Championship on April 10-12 at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark.
