Northwestern Falls in Conference Opener

WEATHERFORD, OKLAHOMA - The Rangers traveled to Weatherford, Oklahoma to play their first conference game of the season against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The Bulldogs were quick to score eleven minutes into the first half to build momentum early before holding onto a 2-0 victory.

The Rangers outshot the Bulldogs on goal 8-5
but were unable to find the back of the net in the loss. Tiara Campbell led the Rangers with four shots on goal with four others each having one. Rachel Brown finished the game with three saves.

The Bulldogs capitalized on a scoring opportunity eleven minutes into the match jumping in front of the Rangers. The Rangers ended the half with six shots while the Bulldogs had seven. The Rangers would go into half-time down 1-0 to the Bulldogs, as each team had two shots on goal. 

In the second half the Rangers had multiple chances on the Bulldogs but were unable to finish with 10 second half shots including six on goal. Northwestern's goalkeeper, Rachel Brown, had three back-to-back saves that kept the Rangers in the game. The Bulldogs found a way to score one more time with two minutes and twenty-seven seconds left in the match, clinching the victory making it 2-0 over the Rangers. 

The loss to Southwestern leaves the Rangers to 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play while the Bulldogs move to 1-3-2.

Next up, the Rangers travel to Ada, Oklahoma on September 24 to play East Central University at 11:00am for their second conference game of the season.
