North Newton Kansas- Northwestern Oklahoma State for the second straight season won the meet hosted by Bethel College in Kansas. The Rangers had two runners place in the top five of the meet including three in the top 10 to help lead the Rangers to the overall meet win over Bethany, and Bethel.
Zachary Cox led the Rangers in the meet wiht a time of 26:59.6 for second place overall in the meet. Teammate
Davin Soto placed third in the race Saturday with a time of 27:46.1. The third top 10 finisher for the Rangers was freshman
Jeremy Smith running a 29:28.6.
"We really ran well today and the team gained confidence and definitely worked together as a unit. one of the first signs of a great team" stated Jill Lancaster head coach for Northwestern.
Draven Hidalgo ran a 30:34.4 for the Rangers placing him in 15 for the meet helping pace Northwestern.
Victor Kibet ran a 32:23.8 for 18th place overall in the meet just under a minute in front of
Willem Johnson who ran a 33:30.4 placing 20th in the meet. Northwestern than had finishers in 22nd and 23rd in
Ray Chavira, and
Cooper Frymire running a 33:59.2 followed by Frymire's time of 34:32.4.
Jonathan Ylitalo placed 25th in the meet running a 34:47.5 followed by
Desmond Bible finishing 26th with a time of 35:10.6 and
Rosco Setzer with a time of 41:39.2 in 32nd place.
"The men's team went out and competed hard and they wanted to make some history of there own. This is the first men's title since becoming a Division 2 program and it is exciting." stated

Following this meet the Rangers will now get ready to travel to the University of Arkansas for the Chile Pepper Festival for the team's next meet on Friday September 30th.
