Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Rangers Beat Harding on the Road 2-1

SEARCY, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma Women's Soccer went on the road Saturday morning against Harding University. The Rangers used a goal in each half to take a 2-1 victory over the Bisons. The win over Harding in Searcy is the first win over the Bisons in program history on the road. 

The win improves the Rangers record to 2-6-7 on the season with a conference record now 2-6-7. Harding falls to 3-7-5 overall and 1-4-4 in Great American Conference play. 

Northwestern's goals were scored by Lily Anderson her third of the season and Isabella Mcmillan her fourth of the year. Maggie Koster was in goal finishing with three saves in the victory. 

The Rangers came out fast with a corner kick in the opening two minutes before getting the first three shots in the game including one on goal by Jazlyn Norwood. Northwestern continued to control the opening half after a Harding attack. Northwestern had two more shots on goal and a shot off target. 

Northwestern struck at the 39:05 mark of the opening half as Lily Anderson scored directly off the corner kick to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the opening half. Maggie Koster made a save to the right side keeping the game in favor of the Rangers heading into halftime. 

Out of the break Harding started early as a goal by Gabie Eddins in the 46:11 mark was able to even the game in the opening two minutes of the half. A goal from Gabie Eddins tied the game at 1-1. The tie score did not hold for long though as the Rangers five minutes later were able to capitalize on a goal from Isabella Mcmillan her fourth of the season coming off a steal from the defense. 

Harding's best opportunity to tie the game came in the closing five minutes as a shot by Thompson was saved by Koster before three corner kicks and two shots on goal were all stopped and played well by the Ranger defense. Northwestern held on for the 2-1 victory. The win gives the Rangers the season series win over the Bisons 1-0-1 with the tie coming back in Alva. 

Northwestern will return home for the next game as the Rangers host the Tigers of East Central with kickoff set for 6:00 PM as the Rangers look to even the season series with East Central.
