Lady Rangers Open Home Slate With Blowout Win

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The first home game of the season for the Lady Rangers was against Kansas Christian College. Everyone enjoyed being on the floor, as every Lady Ranger scored a basket. Lady Rangers started off fast in the non-conference game with a 14-0 lead and it grew bigger with each quarter.

The win improves the Lady Rangers to 3-0 on the season starting with three straight wins for the second season in a row.
 
Leaders for NWOSU Rangers:
Payton Jones 14 pts, Nikaya Orange 14 and 9 rebounds, Faith Simpson 12 and 5 rebounds, Kynsey Dixon with 11, Mia Jones with 10 and 6 rebounds, T. Thomas with 7 assists and 4 pts.
Lady rangers out rebounded KCC 51-26.
 
1ST Quarter:
 
Lady Ranger's Craig opened the game with a three-point jumper. Thomas with a following bucket after Rangers stole the ball. Payton Jones hit two free throws and a three to continued to lead. Camille Thomas followed with an and one and another bucket forcing KCC to take a timeout. Rangers started the game with a strong 14-0 run. Right after a timeout Carly made another three and a lay up the following turnover from the Falcon possession. As the Falcons remained scoreless, Faith Simpson put her name on the board with her first points now leading the score 23-0. After five minutes of playing Melissah Henderson for KCC scored their first bucket of the game. A couple minutes of playing Falcons have added three free throws on the scoreboard. After the first quarter the Lady Rangers led 38-5.
 
2nd Quarter
To start the second quarter Kansas Christian hit their first three of the game. Lady Rangers answered back with a 10-0 run and making KCC take their second timeout of the game. Kansas Christian's Sidnee Bergquist put another two points in her stats. Payton Jones hit two back-to-back threes and the score was 56-15. Lady Rangers had seven steals half way into the quarter. Josena Frame knocked down her first three of the game and Kynsey Dixon answered with her first three.
 
HALFTIME: 68-22 after the first half of the game. Leading scorers for the Rangers at half: Payton Jones with 14 (3-4 3pts), Faith Simpson with 12 and 5 rebounds, C Thomas has 9 and 5 rebounds, Carly Craig 8 and 4 assists, Paige Scott led in assists with five. Leading for KCC: S. Bergquist with 12 pts and N. Metcalf with 7 and 7 rebounds.
 
3rd Quarter:
Nikaya Orange opened the second half with the put back and now has 6pts. Paige Scott following up with her first three of the game. Syncere Harrod with back to back lay ups from the paint and 2 made free throws. Sidnee Bergquist makes two free throws as they are the first points of the third quarter for KCC. Summaya Adigun with back to back lay ups and now she has 4pts. Mia Jones hits a three with a foul and completed a four point play. L. Ribo gets a chance to score her first points as she was fouled, but makes 1 out of 2 free throws. Mia Jones answers with her second  three. Kynsey Dixon makes her second three of the game and a fast break layup the following possession. The Rangers hit the century mark at the end of third quarter leading 104-25.
 
4th Quarter:
Kansas Christian started the last quarter of the game with a mid-range jumper from L. Ribo. Syncere Harrod answers with two buckets in a row from the paint and now she has 12 points. Kansas Christian had their best quarter in the fourth quarter finishing with 25 points in the quarter. The Rangers finished the game with four players knocking down three 3-pointers in Chrissen Harland finishing with 11 points, Mia Jones 10 points, Kynsey Dixon nine points, and Payton Jones.
 
The Rangers will be back in action on the road at Oklahoma Panhandle State Friday evening. Tip-off is set for 5:30 in Goodwell, Oklahoma.
