Franklin Earns GAC Runner of the Week

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Cross Country opened their 2023 season last week in the Aggie Duels hosted by Cameron University. The Rangers won the overall meet and runner Christian Franklin won the meet individually.

Franklin following the meet has been rewarded with GAC runner of the week for his performance in the opening meet. Franklin led the Rangers overall in the meet helping win the team title while earning the individual title as well. The Nevada native finished the 8k setting a new Northwestern school record by finishing with a time of 25:17. This was also 35 seconds ahead of the second place finisher in the meet.

Franklin becomes the first Ranger to win runner of the week for Men's Cross Country this season and the first since week four of last season when Zachary Cox earned this accolade.

Northwestern will be in action this week on Friday traveling to Joplin Missouri for a meet hosted by Missouri Southern.
