LAWTON, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Cross Country opened the season extremely well on Friday morning. The Rangers placed first overall in the meet as Christian Franklin won the meet individually. Northwestern finished with four top 10 finishes, in Franklin, Salat Ibrahim, Edward Robledo-Gonzalez and Zachary Cox.

"The men ran lights out! Christian Franklin set the school record with a time of 25:17 and won the meet overall. The men also won the meet as a team. We placed four guys in the top 10."

Christian Franklin with his first race with the Rangers, Franklin won the meet with a time of 25:17 setting the new school record for the fastest time in Rangers history.

He was one of four Northwestern runners to place inside the top 10 in Salat Ibrahim, Edward Robledo-Gonzalez, and Zachary Cox. Ibrahim was eighth overall and second on the Rangers with a final time of 26:52. Ninth place was Robledo-Gonzalez with a time of 26:53.0. Zachary Cox was the fourth Ranger inside the top 10 with a time of 26:55.0.

Riley Herndon was just on the outside of the top 10 in 11th finishing with a time of 26:59.0. Edgar Reyes was 12th followed by Jeremy Smith and Ben Morfin all placing in the top 20. Reyes finished with a time of 27:03.0 followed by Smith in 17th with a time of 27:24.0. Morfin was 20th at 27:51.0

Next for the Rangers in the next grouping was Raziel Patton finishing at 27:57.0, Aaron Medrano ran a 28:06.0 placing 25th and Alan Lares at 30th at 28:47.0.

Cooper Frymire ran a 32:14.0 for 49th in the meet followed by Basheer Suied for a 32:40.0 final time. Willem Johnson finished 51st followed by Johnathan Ylitalo and Ja'Von Cleophas in 55th.

The Rangers will be back in action on Friday September 15th for the Missouri Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern in Joplin Missouri.
