HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Golf was in Hot Springs, Arkansas for the Battle for the Belt. The Rangers placed 13th overall in the tournament out of 15 teams competing.
Overall Henderson State won the tournament with a -10 total of 854 (283-280-291) followed by Southern Arkansas and Henderson State rounding out the top three. The individual leader was Elliot Han Monteremal of Rogers State.Â
The Rangers were led by Max Courange finishing the tournament 20th overall with a total of 34 pars with nine birdies overall. Courange finished with a best round in the second round with a 69 and a total of 218 for the three rounds.Â
Pierce Geminden placed 43rd after a total of 226. His best round was in the opening round with a 72 in the tournament, after 26 pars, nine birdies, and the Rangers only eagle of the tournament.Â
Northwestern's next Ranger was Matti Zerwin finishing 53rd overall with a total of 229 his best round in the third with an improvement of eight from the first round.Zerwin opened the tournament with a total of 80 before round three finished with a 72. Zerwin had 25 pars and birdies.Â
Noah Carpenter was the fourth Ranger with 33 pars in the tournament with six birdies. Carpenter finished with a total of 230 placing 56th overall with his best round of 76 before a consistent 77 back to back rounds.Â
Davan Smith was the fifth Ranger with a final total of 232 with a best round of 75. After finishing with 33 pars and three birdies to finish 59th overall.Â
Rangers had one individual in the Battle for the Belt tournament as Magnus Fabian placed 59th overall, with his best round a 74 totaling a 232 tying Davan Smith. He finished with four birdies and 33 pars.Â
The Rangers will be in Weatherford on Thursday for the Perkins Cup hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State.Â
